The Moon Without Water ​

Dry as the lunar surface, like a shallow understanding, ​

No desire to venture forward, like a smile with cavities. ​

The moon's swimming pool has dried up, ​

Yet it still cascades in radiant splendor. ​

Murder on a certain new moon, when the water was cold, and the shadows of trees sparse. The culprit devoured the pine, ink sprouted needles; with a flick, sullied the snow, pierced the flowers. ​
